# soc2doc docs

> What soc2doc is, how the Commitment Review works, and how it fits alongside compliance-automation platforms.

soc2doc helps teams understand and run the SOC 2 commitments they have already
made. The starting point is the free Commitment Review: upload an issued SOC 2
report, and we mirror the commitments back in plain English so the work is easier
to see, assign, and manage.

These docs explain what the product does today, what the free review includes, and
where soc2doc fits next to evidence-automation platforms such as Vanta, Drata, and
Sprinto.

The standard here is simple: say only what is true. No invented endpoints, no
invented control numbers, no claims about work we do not do. soc2doc never
performs the audit. The free review does no gap analysis.

## Start here

If you already have a SOC 2 report, the fastest way to understand the product is
to run the free review against your own document.
