# Evidence library

> One place for every document and piece of evidence, organized by control family and mapped to the controls it supports — instead of a sprawling shared drive.

Most teams keep their audit evidence in a shared drive that grows into a maze of
folders and naming conventions no one agrees on. The console gives you one
evidence library instead: every document in a single place, organized by control
family, and mapped to the controls it actually supports.

This is a console capability on the One Plan, separate from the free Commitment
Review.

## Everything, grouped by control family

Open **Evidence library** to see all of your evidence at once, grouped the way an
auditor thinks about it — by control family (CC6, A1, C1, and so on). Each item
shows what it is, who added it, when, and which controls it covers. Documents that
aren't tied to a control yet sit in a **General** section so nothing gets lost.

<Note>
  The library reads from the evidence you attach across the console — so a document
  you link to a control shows up here automatically, in the right group. There's no
  second place to keep in sync.
</Note>

## Adding evidence

<CardGroup cols={3}>
  <Card title="Link" icon="link">
    Point to a document where it already lives — SharePoint, Google Drive, a Vanta
    or Drata export.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Note" icon="pen">
    Capture a short piece of evidence or context inline.
  </Card>

  <Card title="File" icon="file">
    Upload a document to a control; it's stored privately and never rendered
    publicly.
  </Card>
</CardGroup>

Each item can be linked to the control it supports, so your evidence and your
controls stay connected. Confidentiality is unchanged: files are private, and the
library never exposes a public link to a stored document.
