# What soc2doc is

> A practitioner-led SOC 2 support service for teams that need the work understood, owned, and carried through the year.

soc2doc is practitioner-led SOC 2 support for teams that need the work understood,
owned, and carried through the year.

The product starts with clarity: what did your report say, what work does that
create, and who is responsible for keeping it true? From there, soc2doc can support
the operating work around SOC 2 - strategy, documentation, evidence, auditor
coordination, and recurring follow-through.

## What it is

* **Practical ownership support.** soc2doc helps turn commitments into assigned,
recurring work instead of leaving them buried in an audit report.
* **Operator-led, not template-led.** The work is guided by a practitioner who has
built and run programs, not by a generic checklist.
* **Compatible with existing tools.** Teams can keep evidence platforms for
collection and use soc2doc for interpretation, oversight, and execution.

## What it is not

* **Not the auditor.** soc2doc never performs the audit. SOC 2 audits are performed
by an independent CPA firm. We prepare and support the work around the audit; the
  report comes from your auditor.
* **Not a gap analysis in the free review.** The free
[Commitment Review](/product/commitment-review) mirrors your report. Judging
whether the organization meets those commitments is paid advisory work.
* **Not a dashboard you babysit.** The goal is to make the work easier to own, not
to add another system your team has to interpret alone.

## Who it is for

soc2doc is for founders, CTOs, compliance leads, and operators who are responsible
for SOC 2 outcomes but do not want the work scattered across tools, calendars, and
last-minute audit requests.
